Laura Shanon from Findhorn, Scotland

Laura Shannon has been researching women’s traditional circle dances of the Balkans for over thirty years and teaches them in seminars all over the world. She sees the dances as a group meditative practice containing hidden wisdom passed down from ancient times, deeply relevant for women today. She lives in Greece and in the Findhorn community in Scotland. http://www.laurashannon.net

After a severe accident two years ago I had to learn how to walk again. My shoes are a sign of hope and achievement. I bought them for a journey in the desert and I am proud that I managed to fulfill my dream even though it was quite hard physically. The purple color reminds me always to walk in the ways of wisdom.

Veronika is a retired arts therapist. She worked for many years in a hospital for mentally ill people, doing theater and paintings with them. She is now retired, busy as a manyfold grandmother.

Sister Clare lives in a convent in Chennai, India. She is also an activist who travels the country and works with Playback-Theater and other theatre methods to support women and grassroot groups in their fight for equal rights.

My shoes: As a nun I live on very little. This is the only pair of shoes I have. I like them because they are solid and comfortable.
