Karin Bettina Gisler, the blogger.
I was born 1957 in Switzerland on the country side. I worked as a farmer, then trained and worked as a teacher. In 1987 I trained as a professional actress and clown with international teachers. Founded my own children’s theatre company. Further trainings followed in psychology and expressive arts therapy in Switzerland. 1990 I learned about Playback-Theater and immediately fell in love with this form of interactive and improvisational theatre. I got trained and work today as a professional Playback-Theater Practitioner with my own company, performing for enterprises, NGO’s and private persons. I am also teaching Playback-Theater all over the world. I am married with Yakov Yakushevskij from Donezk, Ukraine, and live in Zürich, Switzerland.
As a young woman I was involved in fighting for women rights. 1975 the Swiss men had to vote whether to give also the Swiss women the right to vote. I went out on the street to promote the ’saying yes‘. Women then finally got the right to vote, my interest and sensitivity for women’s rights and women’s reality remained with me.
Traveling a lot as international teacher I enjoy meeting women from all over the world. I started to interview them. I follow the same procedure in every interview. In the first part, I invite the women to tell about themselves, their current situation, maybe talk about some incident of their lives. In the second part I ask the same question in every interview.
What is the situation of women in your place ?
What do you like about your life ?
What do you finde challenging ?
What is your tipp for other women?
The interviews are recorded on the spots I met the women and I add a picture of their favorite shoes.
I welcome your curiosity: please write to me the question(s) you would want to ask me in the next couple of interviews. You can contact me on facebook or on karin.gisler@playback-theater.ch
